Holistic medicine is defined as the art and science of treating the whole person. 	At various points in his career, Dr. Canfield has been a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a national medical organization representing more than 93,000 family physicians, family practice residents and medical students. Training


	Dr. Canfield has completed the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice training program. Functional Medicine is personalized medicine that deals with primary prevention and underlying biological causes instead of symptoms for serious chronic disease. 	Dr. Canfield has completed formal training in the use of Frequency Specific Microcurrent therapy and actively uses FSM in his medical practice. -more-
