Many people with chronic conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and various chronic pain conditions have an underlying level of bodily inflammation due to a compromised ability to eliminate metabolic wastes. Instead of getting definitively eliminated in the stool, small toxin molecules in the bile that are released from the liver into the intestinal tract may be reabsorbed into the bloodstream in a process called autointoxication. At 360 Medicine, we use a gentle gravity-fed, open system LIBBE colon hydrotherapy device, operated by I-ACT trained technicians. A soothing flow of purified warm water is instilled gently into the colon through a disposable nozzle the size of a pencil that the client easily inserts. With the LIBBE device, the pressure, temperature, and flow of water, are all safely regulated throughout the session and may be operated in privacy for those who prefer solitude. The incoming water is purified with an ultraviolet and activated charcoal water purification system. In some situations, colon hydrotherapy may be used as a non-laxative preparation for a colonoscopy.

Our colon hydrotherapists may add specific implants to the cleansed colon at the end of the hydrotherapy session for added therapeutic effect. With the stool removed from the colon, a safe dose of healthy bacteria in the form of a probiotic implant can help to restore normal bacterial diversity to the lower GI tract in a much more effective way than is possible using oral probiotic supplements. Ozone, an activated form of oxygen, can also be given to have an added nourishing effect.
